Coral Bleach

I’m holding my breath as I stride further down;
To corrals below, filled with rainbows.
But that was all a dream, for the corral I see,
Has been bleached of all color,
Has been bleached of all glee.
As plastic bags swim side by side along me,
There’s no fish to be seen,
There’s no will to be free.
The abyss is so deep but I stride further down,
As both legs calmly kick,
While the waves slowly frown.
And the moonlight is fading,
And the darkness is setting,
I don’t know if I’ll ever leave.
I’m holding my breath as I stride further down,
I’m holding my soul for I know soon we’ll drown.
