Breath of May

Take in the shades of cardinal roses,

Of purple tulips, and of golden lilacs,

Watch the rains of cherry petals

Dance with a persimmon sea in the sky.

And the question he now imposes

Is for the apple tree to be cut by an axe

Once the nectar in the meadow slowly settles.

Now comes the everlasting high.

For in they take a verdant breath of May;

A shaky sigh of their crown of flowers.

While they stare at their vulnerable surfaces,

With gazing love and gazing passion.

Thus the rosebud at the roots will splay,

As it blossoms with pollen and showers.

And each inch will be cared for, all crevices,

Till December comes, and Spring will ashen.
